CLASSIFICATION AND TYPES OF FIRE RESISTANT GLASS

The choice of type of glass depends on the following parameters:

FIRE CLASSIFICATION

Class E:

No flames or hot gases on the non-fire side
  • Monolithic glass based on Soda-Lime
  • Wired glass

Class EW:

Same as Class E plus measured radiated heat in front of the glazing may not exceed 15 kW/mē
  • Float glass with interlayer
  • Coated safety glass

Class EI:

Heat shield function. On average the temperature may not exceed 140° C above the initial temperature on the non-fire side of the glazing
  • Float glass with multiple interlayer
  • Tempered glass with interlayer
