SPECIFICATION OF MCM-FORM PROFILES

The Framing is manufactured by welding and smoothing treatment of pre-galvanized tube-shaped steel profiles of series MCM-FORM. The manufacturing takes place in an MCM authorized workshop according to ISO: 9001 standard. The profiles are manufactured by steel strips (type: S250GDZ150NA), hot-dip galvanized with 150gr/m2 zinc overlay on both sides according to EN 10147 and cold roll formed according to DIN 2395 part 1&2. The wall thickness of the profiles is 2mm and the sectional dimensions are 50x50mm with an astragal of 20mm. Special gaskets are applied to the grooves of the door profiles. Surface treatment is achieved with a polyester powder coating at any color of the RAL range. Glazing beads of different depths are available to allow the installation of glass with thickness range of 5-25mm.

The Glazing can be selected between monolithic (5-6mm), wired (6-7mm), laminated (10-12mm) and double glazed (20-24mm) units. Rubber gaskets are used for glazing. The glasses comply with impact resistance specifications according to BS 6206 or other standard. Optionally part of the glazing area may be replaced with metallic panels of sandwich composition (steel plate 1,5mm + gypsum plate 12,5mm + steel plate 1,5mm).

The standard equipment of doorsets per door leaf includes two steel adjustable hinges heavy duty type, with a safety bolt in between. The doorsets are fitted with mortise locks combined with panic bars or lever handles, overhead door closers or floor springs. Double leaf doorsets include sequence control selectors. Hold-open optional devices for keeping the door leaves open are available as separate magnet units or integrated with the closing mechanisms.

Installation is allowed only by MCM authorized working teams in order to ensure the correct implementation of the specification standards and the validity of the certification. The preparation of the neighbouring construction requires the installation of steel hollow tubes of a typical section 60x20mm on which the outer framing is fixed with screws. Between the neighboring construction and the outer frames a gap of 5-10mm is allowed and filled in with mastic of white, grey or black color.

ADVANTAGES OF STEEL PROFILES COMPARED TO ALUMINIUM
  • Long endurance even under rough conditions of use.
  • Material suitable for quality welding and flawless drilling for accessories.
  • Inner and outer galvanizing providing protection against corrosion.
  • Profiles with higher static values enabling the use of slim profiles and constructions of larger spans.
  • Strong construction in combination with elegant appearance.
  • Fire resistance offering integrity and stability under temperatures above 1000o C for a time period up to 120 minutes.
  • Smoke protection.
  • Bullet resistance with additional reinforcement within the profiles.
